UNITED PEOPLE ORGANIZATION – UPO
Global governance with citizen participation
A democratic parliament of world citizens
One voice for humanity
The status quo
Our world is global – our voice is not
The major challenges of our time have long crossed all borders. Climate crisis, wars, migration, economic inequality, technological concentration of power – they affect us all.
But while the economy, communication and crises have become globalized, democratic co-determination ends at national borders.
Global decisions are made without the people who bear their consequences having a voice of their own.
There is no common political framework within which humanity can organize itself.
At the same time, for the first time in history, we have the technical, communicative and social prerequisites to close this gap.

People can network worldwide. Information can be shared transparently. Global voting and elections are technically possible.

Now is the moment
UNITED PEOPLE ORGANIZATION
is the possibility of how humanity can organize itself as a political force.
A new political reality
Vision of an organization of the global civilian population
The UNITED PEOPLE ORGANIZATION starts as a democratic initiative with the intention of uniting all people of the world as equal world citizens and representing them at the global political level.
The organization emerges from the conviction that humanity – in the face of global challenges such as climate change, peace, resources and global justice – needs its own political structure that goes beyond national interests and focuses on the well-being of the entire planet.
It is based on three fundamental principles that should shape its identity and role in the world:
By the people for humanity
The UPO emerges from the grassroots – through people from all regions of the world, cultures and realities of life and establishes humanity as a political subject.
Unity for diversity
The UPO understands diversity as strength and unity as the basis of civil society cooperation for peace and the protection of planetary life.
Supplement and transform
The UPO aims to complement existing institutions such as the UN and give every citizen a voice in order to have a corrective and formative influence on decisions with global implications.

The three circles of the UPO
The structure of the United People Organization combines participation, representation and impact – in three organically linked circles.
- an open global citizenship – the outer circle
- a democratically elected world parliament – the middle circle
- a representative council – the inner circle
These three circles form a living whole that remains in constant dialogue with one another. Information and feedback flow in every direction. In this way, the organization does not operate through top-down control but regulates and continuously evolves from within.
This model combines direct and representative democracy

The citizens
form the foundation of the UPO. Every person around the world can register as a member and participate in votes and elections. They are the source of the UPO’s democratic legitimacy, based on the principle: one person, one vote.

The UPO is to us humans what the UN is to nations
It is not a non-governmental organization, but a co-governmental organization

What people say
The UPO, which is launching in Switzerland, is a call to global civil society to get involved as a co-governing organization in the pursuit of a democratic world order in which no one is left behind.
Without the people, there will be no peace!

The UPO serves as a platform for promoting respect for cultural diversity, upholding the dignity of every individual, and advocating for a more just and equitable world. Through these principles, it seeks to foster understanding, inclusion and meaningful cooperation among people from all backgrounds, for greater social harmony and lasting peace.

Given the destructive course the world has taken, the creation of a UPO not only makes perfect sense, but has become an urgent necessity. We must respond – united in the same spirit, in a civilized but determined manner. I am convinced that the UPO can be the right way forward.

Finally, someone has come along to create the long-awaited approach of taking the power of the civilian population seriously, believing in it, and providing it with a powerful platform. There are 8 billion of us—if we can even somewhat succeed in uniting our goals, we will be a strong voice that cannot be ignored, one that seeks to serve the common good of all.

The UPO lays the groundwork for a truly united planet. In a constructive way, it raises awareness and builds the platform and organization needed to ensure that people everywhere can participate. By “united,” I mean a world that is in the hands of the people, where every voice counts and where people come together in a spirit of cooperation.

I am inspired to contribute constructively to a greater whole by making my voice heard.
UPO helps to shape a life of mutual respect and equality.
After all, we all come from the same “star”.

The United People Organization is more than just a political idea
It is an evolutionary step. It embodies the transition from a world of competing nation states to a planetary community in which humanity becomes aware of its unity and responsibility.
